Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how “Auro Guild” collects, uses, stores and protects your personal data in compliance with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP) and the Information Technology Rules, 2011 of India. It applies to the Auro Guild mobile app and website alike.

1. What Auro Guild does

Auro Guild is a community and creator app for Bharat. Inside the app you can:

• Browse a public community feed without signing in (read-only visitor mode).
• Create an account with a username, email and password to publish photos, video or audio narration. Existing members may also use Google sign-in.
• Star, comment on, save, share and report posts; follow and connect with other members.
• Publish and read e-books, and listen to audio posts in multiple Indian languages.
• Receive direct person-to-person tips by uploading your own UPI QR code image. Auro Guild does not process, hold or route any tip money — the payment happens entirely inside the payer’s own UPI app.
• Use optional creator utilities: GPS camera posts, a multi-page document scanner for your own records, a simple sales/expense ledger, boosts and leaderboards.

2. Data we collect

• Account: email address, chosen username, profile photo, bio, city, language preference and optional social links. Existing Google members may also share their Google name and profile photo.
• Content you create: posts, images, videos, audio, e-books, comments, stars, saves, follows and connection activity.
• Payment identifiers you choose to publish: your UPI ID and/or the UPI QR image you upload so supporters can tip you directly. We never see the tip transaction itself.
• Paid features (ad boosts, subscriptions) are processed by Razorpay; we store only the order reference and status, never card or UPI credentials.
• Camera, media and location: used only when you actively take a photo, attach media, or use a geo-tagged post. Location is optional and never tracked in the background.
• Documents you scan: stored privately for your own use and readable only by you.
• Device/log data: IP address, device or browser type, app install/open events and timestamps — for security, abuse prevention and basic analytics.

3. Data we never collect

• Your UPI PIN, bank passwords, card numbers, CVV or OTPs.
• Aadhaar numbers, biometric data or contact-list scraping.
• Background location, call logs or SMS.

4. How we protect it

• Encryption at rest and TLS in transit.
• Row-Level Security: private data such as your scanned documents is readable only by you.
• Private files are served through short-lived signed links that auto-expire.
• Passwords are handled by our protected account service and are not stored as readable text by Auro Guild. Existing members may also use protected Google sign-in.

5. Sharing

We do not sell your data. We share it only with: our hosting and database provider under a data-processing agreement; Google (when an existing member chooses Google sign-in) and Razorpay (paid boosts and subscriptions) for the specific features you use; and law enforcement on valid Indian legal process. 6. Children

Auro Guild is not intended for children under 13. Accounts found to belong to children are removed.

7. Your rights (DPDP Act, 2023)

• Right to access, correct, update and erase your data.
• Right to withdraw consent at any time.
• You can pause or delete your account in-app under Profile → Account Settings, or without signing in via Account Deletion Request.

8. Retention

We retain your account, content and private documents while your account is active. On deletion, your profile and content are removed after a 180-day recovery window. Records relating to paid transactions (ad boosts, subscriptions) are retained for up to 8 years strictly as required by Indian tax and financial record-keeping laws. Since Auro Guild does not process tips or hold user funds, no KYC or banking credentials are retained.

9. Changes

We will notify you in-app and ask you to re-consent for any material change. Each consent is logged with timestamp and IP.
